About Us
What We Are
Switchboard Magazine is a digital publication committed to reshaping the landscape of long-form nonfiction. Once a month, we publish captivating, true stories that celebrate diverse voices and viewpoints, sharing stories that are as astonishing as they are real. We prioritize quality writing, character-driven dramas, and meticulous research. We invite readers into extraordinary worlds and introduce them to astonishing people.
Our values guide every facet of Switchboard:
-
Our stories are crafted not only to engage readers but also to generate adaptations across television, film, and beyond - bridging the gap between narrative and screen to reach new audiences.
-
We believe that who tells the story is as important as the story itself. We strive to amplify underrepresented voices, offering a more authentic view of the world.
-
We empower storytellers through a 50/50 profit-sharing model, fostering an environment where creativity thrives, and success is shared.
-
We tell unbelievable, but true, stories that challenge perceptions and spark dialogue. Every narrative leaves a lasting impression, raising the bar for relevance and resonance.

Switchboard Magazine relies on community.

Our Storytellers
Our storytellers come from diverse backgrounds. There’s no requirement to have attended a particular school, live in a specific area, or fit any single mold. We believe that the most powerful stories come from real life experiences, and dedication to the craft. While awards aren’t our measure of success, we’re always proud to celebrate our team’s achievements.
Recipients of:
